Inside of my 'art of' book i want to include a poster advertising the circus and a ticket that can be slotted in. Here are some of my favourite designs......

Major Project - further development for the characters

Now that i had developed the backgrounds, i wanted to develop the characters further because i got more of a feel on the style now. Here are a selection of those developments.....

Major Project - Backgrounds

There are several backgrounds that i want to include in my story, a lot of the films scenes take place behind the scenes to the actual circus time, so in places like where the animals live for instance.

First of all i started by drawing the backgrounds out as a whole but decided this wasn't the best approach, so i took the method of designing the empty rooms separately from the props, then i dragged the props around the set to give a few possible backgrounds. Below are the designs for the boys room, Carter.

This is my favourite outcome from using this method, i did four in total but this is the one id later like to finalise.

Next are the designs for Fernando and Mary's house.

This is my favourite design for this scene.

Now onto Lennox the lions room. again using the same method of designing.

Next are the designs for the elephants room.

Below are the designs for the monkey's room, this was the most fun one to design.

This is definately my favourite design so far.

Finally, these are the designs for the giraffe's room.

All these rooms will be inside of a little man made villiage that will be behind the circus tent. this village could look like this......

Major Project - Initial Character Development

Now i started to go in and develop the characters, i had a pre-conceived image in my head as to how i wanted them to look but these needed to be developed a lot. I knew that each character needed to show personality. These are the designs for the lion(Lennox), the bear(Burton), the elephant(Echo), the monkey(Mac) and the giraffe(Gia).

And here are the early development designs for the human characters, Fernando, Mary and Carter.

None of these characters are the final product in any shape or form, i will go back and develop these further later on once i get a feel of how the backgrounds will look so the characters will be easier to fit in.
